Letter from Mayor Tidwell

Dear citizens,
The country is faced with a serious issue, the Coronavirus(COVID-19). During these trying times ,we must work together and communicate with each other to help us get through this difficult time.  The City of Ecorse is working with the county, state and Federal governments to gather information and provide updates to our community.
To get updated information, you can go to our city website, Ecorsemi.gov, or our Facebook page. You can also find information via the SeeClickFix app and on our cable channel which is carried on Comcast cable systems.   You can download the SeeClickFix app on your smartphone.
I am asking all citizens to be mindful of the threat of the Coronavirus and take this seriously as we are learning that people without symptoms can spread the disease to vulnerable citizens like the elderly and immunocompromised. This is just not an older person problem, this impacts everyone. Furthermore, I am further asking the citizens to check in with your family and friends  and neighbors by way of texting, video chat and email to see if they are okay. We must adhere to the Governor's executive orders. Please keep a  6 feet or greater social distance when in public, wash your hands, and do not congregate in groups larger than ten people.
The upcoming council meeting will be done by conference call and the information will be forwarded to the citizens by way of our website,Facebook and SeeClickFix app.
The conference call format is will allow the citizens to call in to hear the council meeting and participate in discussion. The governor has passed an executive order allowing communities to do this. The Mayor and Council will keep you informed on information when it becomes available.  Please do not hesitate to share any information that we provide you with throughout our community.  We are all in this together.

Thank you,
Mayor Lamar C. Tidwell
